An engaged young man saves a girl from suicide and falls in love with her

Miss Briany, an American, is infatuated with her boss but discovers that he is having an affair with a work colleague. In a fit of despair, she tries – illegally – to commit suicide, but is rescued by soon-to-be-married Tony Woodward. Chivalrously, he allows her to dry off and recover at his home, but strives at all costs to keep her out of sight from his bride-to-be.
