Mini Biography

Hanley was on stage from the age of 12 and a circus bareback rider at 14, before making his film debut when he was 16. In the mid-50s he was also presenter of a daily television programme, Jolly Good Time, and a consumer programme, Jim’s Inn. The first of his two wives was actress Dinah Sheridan. Their daughter is Jenny Hanley and their son, Jeremy Hanley, MP, was chairman of the Conservative party in 1994-95.
