A blind girl marries a French aristocrat and has to cope with a jealous neighbour

A London girl falls happily in love with a Frenchman, Paul, only to go blind. After briefly seeking solace in her childhood convent, Lydia returns with her new love to secular life. The couple move into Paulโ€™s parentsโ€™ chรขteau in the south of France โ€“ but does somebody want Lydia dead?

A Day with Margaret Lockwood.   In the morning Margaret Lockwood plays in a scene which is set in a hospital room.   She has just had an eye operation.   While the camera is lined up Director Charles Bennett gives a demonstration of the type of hospital visitor that is a joy to have around.   He brings grapes and eats them all himself.
