Pretentious, humourless, totally unpersuasive fantasy of the kind much better done in Portrait of Jeanie. The writer-director wears Omar Khayyam’s moving finger to the bone, and the actors look thoroughly unhappy; even the colour is a bit thick. (Halliwell’s)
