Stewart Granger, an MGM star

When Stewart Granger began his acting career, he had to give up his own real name, James Stewart, to avoid confusion with the famous American star. After appearing in repertory, he appeared on the London stage and was an immediate hit. Soon he became one of England’s most popular movie stars, and then Hollywood beckoned. His first appearance in this country, ‘King Solomon’s Mines’, resulted in his being signed to an MGM contract. He will next be seen in MGM’s Technicolor production, ‘All the Brothers Were Valiant’.
