Photograph of English-born Australian actor, Peter Finch (1)

Mini Biography

In films in Australia from 1937, Finch made his stage debut in 1939, as a stooge to a comedian, and was on the British stage from 1949. Married three times, he had much-publicised affairs with actresses Kay Kendall, Vivien Leigh and Mai Zetterling, among others. His off-stage and -screen antics, as a hard-drinking womaniser, sometimes obscured his abilities as one of the best film actors of his time.
